OpenVPN on Linux

When using the Linux command line client you must have the package "resolvconf" installed in order for DNS to be updated properly. You do not have to use Road Warrior VPN.com DNS server but is highly recommended for speed and security.

so start out be checking that you have resolvconf installed.

First you see that resolvconf was not found.

Now you see that the which was able to find resolvconf because it is installed now.

Now download the Linux .zip file from Self Service section. Then unzip the zip archive. It will create a directory which will be named the same as the .zip file. This directory will contain configuration files, certificates, and a script for automatically modifying they /etc/resolv.conf file.

A example of unzip the arching and then connecting to the VPN server is included below.

Below is a example of what the output looks like after openvpn is has finished connecting to Road Warrior VPN.com VPN server. The very last line where it says "Intalization Sequence Completed" signifies that you connection is complete.
